2010 workshops

Wow!!! we had a great turn out for the mosaic workshop. It was wonderful to see and hear all the teachers in our back studio space nipping away at tile. Because this was such a great success we are planning more this year. Not only mosaics, but mural painting and other community art building workshops. More info to come soon!

Sweet Tooth

If you are making plans for the Valentine's Day weekend get started on February 11th with Sweet Tooth: A Charity Bake Sale + Art Exihibition. Proceeds will go to a few non-profits...and we are included! Hope you can make it.

Chicago Public Art Group wishes everyone a Happy New Year! 2010 is already starting to look like a busy year. We look forward to updating everyone on our new and exciting projects. In the meantime you should check out the new exhibit at the Noyes Arts Center in Evanston…CPAG's friend and artist Carolyn Elaine (she co-led the 47^th Street project last year) is the curator of “A Call To Action”…Enjoy!

Art panels are being installed on 53rd and 55th

If you live in Hyde Park, or find yourself visiting Hyde Park...take a drive under the 53rd Street and 55th Street underpasses at Lake Park Ave. The steel panels that have lined the underpasses are being covered by large scale digital prints of studio work by Margaret Burroughs, Terry Evans, John Himmelfarb and Calvin Jones. Well worth a visit.

Join us for Paint the Town our annual dinner and art auction. October 15, 2009 at 6:00PM. At Prairie Production, 1314 W. Randolph. This year we are honoring Kerry James Marshall, Mary gray and the Chicago Park District.

The art auction wil feature pices by Kerry James Marshall, Hector Duarte, Ginny Sykes, Corinne Peterson and many others.
